Das Detroiter Underground Resistance-Kollektiv um "Mad Mike" Banks gehört seit seiner Gründung im Jahr 1990 wie kaum ein anderes musiksoziologische Netzwerk zum guten Gewissen elektronischer Tanzmusik, sowohl auf inhaltlicher als auch klanglicher Ebene. Um so stolzer darf man im Hause Datapunk darauf sein, dass das Labelprogramm mit den generell außerordentlich rar gesäten UR-Remixes der 2005er Rother-Single "When the sun goes down" einen besonderen Ritterschlag erhält. "Mike Banks und ich hatten uns eher zufällig bei einem Abendessen im Rahmen der diesjährigen Time Warp getroffen und dabei zu unserer Freude festgestellt, dass wir ziemliche Fans der Releases des jeweiligen Gegenübers sind. Insofern musste ich nicht lange um Remixes bitten", so Anthony Rother. Der vorsichtige Beginn des bereits auf der "We Are Punks 3"-Compilation erhältlichen Ain´t no sunshine-Remixes, bei dem die Bassdrum erst nach über zwei Minuten einsetzt, setzt dabei einen drastischen Kontrast zum fordernden Flash-Remix, dessen psychoaktiv irrlichternde Chord-Hookline sowohl Detroit-Traditionalisten als auch zeitgenössische Klangforscher aus dem Staunen nicht mehr herauskommen lässt.
